If I Stay

I'll admit before getting into this review that I have a weakness for Chloe Grace Moretz. Since she was Hit Girl I've been a fan. I think she's pretty awesome and that nothing she does can be bad. And I will say to start that I thought her performance in this film was just as good if not better than her performance in other films where I've also found her to be extraordinary.

Aside from her performance however I am stopped at the fact that this is a chick flick. And as such it does follow a basic formula of plot. One that was rather predictable and pulled at the heart strings in just the right places and times. This isn't to say that it wasn't enjoyable. I did find myself tearing up for the characters at certain times through the movie, but there was never a moment when I didn't see it coming. I simply teared up because their performances were so convincing and emotional that I felt along with them, despite knowing what was going to happen in the end, and what was going to be said and done in the scenes leading up to the conclusion.
